What is the LoRa Edge Tracker and why does it last longer?
The LoRa Edge Tracker is built on the Semtech LR1110, which scans Wi-Fi MAC addresses and GNSS satellites but does not compute the fix on the device. It sends the raw scan over LoRaWAN and the cloud resolves the position. The radio is therefore on for a short burst, so battery life is much longer than a conventional GPS tracker doing its own fix.

Do I need a LoRaWAN gateway as well as the trackers?
Yes. The LoRaWAN trackers and badges need EU868 coverage, and one private gateway usually covers a whole site. UWB is different: those tags report to B-SAFE Data Collectors on PoE or DC 5V, not to a LoRaWAN gateway.
