Bespoke work earns its cost when the mechanical envelope, the hazardous area classification, the measurand or the mounting has no standard equivalent.

Can a bespoke device join the network we already run?

Yes, that is how it is scoped. For LoRaWAN that means EU868 through a gateway you already own. If you need one, a Milesight UG63 mini gateway is £98.76 ex VAT, the semi industrial UG65 is £279.82 and the outdoor IP67 UG67 is £658.39. Cellular and satellite backhaul are also supported.

How do you handle ATEX and hazardous area requirements?

Tell us the zone classification and the equipment category the site demands, and the certification route is confirmed in writing with the quote. Hazardous and regulated environments are where this line started, so ATEX level, gulley and river level and flood sensing are engineered for wet, buried and explosive atmospheres rather than adapted from an indoor sensor.
