Industrial IoT-as-a-Service
Data from things in hard-to-reach places
Urban.io is industrial IoT delivered as a service: low-cost, industrial-grade sensors that stream real-time data from remote, exposed or legacy assets over a private long-range wireless network, into one cloud platform and API. One price per data stream, devices, gateway and platform included.

The short answer
Indiott supplies Urban.io in the UK: 15 industrial IoT-as-a-Service products covering temperature, humidity, moisture, differential pressure, current, vibration, pulse metering, 4 to 20 mA loop and dry contact inputs, plus the cellular backhauled gateway. Devices, gateway and cloud platform are billed as one price per data stream, so send the asset, the site and the stream count for a UK quote.

Urban.io is sold as IoT-as-a-Service rather than at a fixed box price, so all 15 lines on the site show Request a price. The commercial model is one price per data stream, with the sensors, the gateway and the cloud platform included. Send the asset, the site and how many streams you need and we return a UK price ex VAT with a lead time.
No fixed line is needed. The Urban.io Gateway creates a private long-range encrypted wireless network for the sensors and backhauls over cellular, so a remote, exposed or temporary site needs no broadband and no leased line. One gateway covers a population of sensors across a site or area and forwards their readings to the Urban.io cloud platform.
Yes. The Process Loop Sensor reads an existing 4 to 20 mA process signal and puts it on the wireless network, so a level, flow or pressure transmitter that was previously wired only becomes remote telemetry with no fresh cabling. The Meter Count Sensor does the same for pulse output from water, gas, electricity and flow meters.
Every stream is available through the Urban.io REST and MQTT APIs, so readings can be pulled into your own dashboard, historian or maintenance system rather than living in a separate portal. Urban.io is an AWS Partner and the feeds integrate into AWS or Azure, which suits estates already running their analytics and alarming in their own cloud tenancy.
The Vibration Sensor trends vibration on pumps, motors, fans and gearboxes, where a change in signature usually precedes a failure. The Current Sensor, UIO-G4AM-CTS, clamps around a conductor for non-invasive load and runtime measurement, so you can confirm whether plant is actually running. The Battery Test Sensor watches standby power and UPS batteries on unattended sites.
Buying outright, for example a Milesight EM500-PT industrial temperature sensor at 116.71 pounds ex VAT on your own UG65 EU868 LoRaWAN gateway at 279.82 pounds, is capital expenditure and you own the network and the integration. Urban.io is operational expenditure: one recurring price per data stream with devices, gateway and platform included. Choose outright where you already run LoRaWAN.
