IoT Controllers

Milesight IoT controllers are the actuation and remote I/O layer of a LoRaWAN system, and Indiott stocks the range in the UK. This archive lists UC-series controllers and RTUs with digital and analogue inputs and outputs, plus solenoid valve controllers and meter controllers. They read pulse meters, PT100 probes and 4-20mA sensors, then switch relays, pumps or valves, all reported and controlled over licence-free LoRaWAN. UK buyers use them for pump and irrigation control, metering, tank management and simple automation where running mains or comms cabling is impractical. Choose by I/O count, power source and enclosure rating. See the full platform in our Milesight UK distributor guide. Ships from UK stock. Every model here has its official datasheet in our Milesight datasheet library.

IoT Controllers — frequently asked questions

Can this read my existing Modbus RTU meters?

Yes. The UC300 and UC501 poll Modbus RTU slave devices over RS485 and forward the registers you select over LoRaWAN. You choose which registers are read and how often. The UC100 does the same job without onboard I/O.

Is this Modbus TCP remote I/O for a SCADA master?

No, and this is the most common mis-specification in this category. The backhaul is LoRaWAN radio, not Ethernet Modbus TCP. These controllers are for sites where running cable to a SCADA master is not viable. If your master must poll the I/O directly over Ethernet you need a wired Modbus TCP I/O device instead - tell us and we will point you at one.

What is the difference between the UC100, UC300 and UC501?

The UC100 is a Modbus-to-LoRaWAN converter with no onboard I/O. The UC300 adds digital and analogue I/O alongside the RS485 port. The UC501 is the ruggedised variant for field enclosures. The I/O counts and power options are in each model's spec table.

Can I switch an output remotely?

Yes, via a LoRaWAN downlink from your network server. Be aware that LoRaWAN downlinks are scheduled around the device's receive windows, so control is not instantaneous. This suits setpoint changes and scheduled switching, not safety interlocks.

How is it powered?

Power options differ by model - some accept a DC supply, some support battery operation for field use. Check the spec table for the input range and whether battery operation limits the polling interval.

Which frequency version do I need in the UK?

The EU868 variant, order code ending -868M.
