Specifications taken from the manufacturer datasheet.
Which version do I need?
The datasheet covers two families: UC300-470M/868M/915M are the LoRaWAN builds, and UC300-L0xx are the 3G/4G cellular builds. UC300-868M is the LoRaWAN 868 MHz build and is the correct UK variant, since UK LoRaWAN uses EU868. The cellular-only specifications (4G LTE CAT 1/WCDMA/GSM, micro-SIM slot, TCP/UDP/MQTT/AWS/SMS modes, 186 g weight) belong to the L0xx models and do not apply to this part.
Typical applications for the UC300
- Smart factory machine data acquisition
- Building automation control
- Modbus RTU device integration over LoRaWAN
- PT100 process temperature monitoring
- Pulse counting from utility or production meters
- Remote relay control of plant when the network is down (IF-THEN commands)
Buying guides for this product
Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same UC300 unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.
CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.
Not sure which band applies where? The Things Network publishes the LoRaWAN frequency plan for every country.

UC300 — frequently asked questions
How many Modbus devices can the UC300 read?
It supports reading 32 Modbus registers and can connect up to 32 Modbus devices over the RS485 port using Modbus RTU.
What can the relay outputs switch?
The two digital outputs are SPDT relay contacts rated at a maximum of 3 A at DC 30 V or AC 250 V.
Does the UC300-868M take a SIM card?
No. The SIM slot and 4G LTE connectivity belong to the cellular UC300-L0xx models. The -868M model is the LoRaWAN version and needs a LoRaWAN gateway and network server.
Can I connect PT100 temperature probes directly?
Yes. There are 2 × PT100 RTD inputs supporting 2-wire and 3-wire connections, 12-bit resolution, over a range of -200°C to 800°C.
Can it be mounted outdoors?
No. It has an IP30 metal case and an operating range of -20°C to 60°C, and the datasheet positions it for indoor applications such as smart factory and building automation.
