Specifications taken from the manufacturer datasheet.

Which version do I need?

The datasheet lists selectable bands CN470/IN865/EU868/RU864/US915/AU915/KR920/AS923-1&2&3&4. UK and EU LoRaWAN uses EU868, the band this -868M part is supplied on. Note the datasheet states AU915 and US915 do not support LBT.

Typical applications for the UG67-L08GL-868M

  • Smart agriculture sensor coverage
  • Smart metering networks
  • Multi-building or campus outdoor LoRaWAN coverage
  • Feeding LoRaWAN data into BMS or PLC via BACnet/IP or Modbus
  • Remote site monitoring over 4G backhaul

Frequency band

Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.

The same UG67-L08GL-868M unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.

CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.

Not sure which band applies where? The Things Network publishes the LoRaWAN frequency plan for every country.

UG67-L08GL-868M — frequently asked questions

How many sensors can one UG67 handle?

Around 2000 Class A/B/C devices at a 10-minute uplink interval, across 8 half/full-duplex channels using the SX1302 LoRa chip.

How do I power an outdoor gateway with no mains nearby?

It accepts 802.3af PoE over the RJ45 WAN port, or 6-12 V DC through the M12 A-coded connector. Typical consumption is 3.6 W and maximum 4.8 W. A PoE injector and a 30 cm M12 DC power cable are listed accessories.

Can it work without a wired network connection?

Yes. It has 4G LTE with a mini SIM (2FF) slot and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, with WAN failover between backhauls.

Do I need a separate network server?

No. It has a built-in network server with the Milesight codec library, and is also compatible with The Things Stack, ChirpStack, Actility and AWS. Data integrates via MQTT(s), HTTP(s), BACnet/IP, BACnet/SC, Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU over TCP.

Is it genuinely weatherproof?

It is rated IP67 and operates from -40°C to +70°C, with reduced cellular performance above 60°C. Mounting is wall or pole, and the two LoRa antennas connect via external N-female connectors.
