UC511 is a LoRaWAN solenoid valve controller with two M12 interfaces for 2-wire DC 12V latching solenoids plus two digital inputs. Its decisive difference from UC512 is the power supply: embedded solar power (6V, 1.7W) with 2 × 2550 mAh ICR18650 chargeable batteries, instead of replaceable lithium cells. The enclosure is IP68, rated 1 m underwater for seven days.
Power SupplyEmbedded solar power (6V, 1.7W) plus 2 × 2550 mAh ICR18650 chargeable batteries — UC512 instead uses 3 × 9000 mAh replaceable ER26500 Li-SOCl2 batteries

Specifications taken from the manufacturer datasheet.
Which version do I need?
868M denotes the EU868 LoRaWAN band, correct for the UK; the datasheet lists CN470/IN865/EU868/RU864/US915/AU915/KR920/AS923-1&2&3&4. The datasheet documents four hardware variants of UC511: UC511 (internal antenna), UC511(EA) with an external SMA antenna and an M12 DC 5-24 V power connector, UC511(AI) with the pressure collection interface, and UC511(EA-AI) with both. A plain UC511-868M part number carries neither the external antenna nor the AI pressure interface.
Typical applications for the UC511-DI
- Agriculture valve control
- Landscape irrigation systems
- Garden irrigation systems
- Remote OPEN/CLOSE valve control over LoRaWAN
- Irrigation water pressure monitoring (AI version)
- Flow monitoring or valve status monitoring via the GPIO pulse counter
Buying guides for this product
Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same UC511-DI unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.
CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.
Not sure which band applies where? The Things Network publishes the LoRaWAN frequency plan for every country.

UC511-DI — frequently asked questions
What solenoids does the UC511 drive?
Two 2-wire DC 12V latching solenoids, connected on two M12 A-coded male solenoid interfaces with 1.5 m cables by default.
Does the UC511 need mains power?
No. It runs from embedded solar power (6V, 1.7W) charging 2 × 2550 mAh ICR18650 batteries. Only the EA (external antenna) version adds a DC 5-24 V input on its M12 power connector.
How long does it run if the solar panel does not charge?
With a full battery and no charging, at a 20-minute interval and four valve operations a day at 25°C: Class A around 8.4 years at SF7 or 3.3 years at SF10, Class B around 1.1 year, Class C around 26 days.
Can the UC511 monitor water pressure?
Only the AI version, which adds a pressure collection interface supporting the PS02 and PS03 sensors — gauge pressure 0~1600 kPa (16 Bar), ±0.5% FS accuracy, 1 kPa resolution — with water pressure threshold alarms.
How does UC511 differ from UC512?
UC511 is solar-powered with rechargeable ICR18650 cells, supports Milesight D2D, and works in Class A, B, C and C-to-B. UC512 uses 3 × 9000 mAh replaceable ER26500 Li-SOCl2 batteries, is LoRaWAN only, and supports Class A and Class B.
