BUILT IN-HOUSE / RAPID CHILL

Smart Cooling Box

A cooler box that did not exist, so we built it

The short answer

What is a smart cooling box and how does it work?

A smart cooling box is a rapid-chill cooler with temperature and stock sensing engineered in, so it takes a bottle to serving temperature in seconds and logs its own cold-chain record. Readings reach an app and dashboard, which raise alerts on temperature excursions, door-open events and low stock. Indiott engineers each unit in-house and quotes it to the application.

One warm bottle, from probe to rapid chill and proof

Every Indiott build runs all five layers as one accountable system. Follow a single door left open from the sensor that catches it to the report that proves it.

Built-in temperature, door state and stock sensing read the cooler from the inside continuously, so the box is never a black box.

How teams start

From a single pilot to the whole portfolio

You do not boil the ocean. Nearly every rollout runs the same four moves, and you own a working, evidenced result at the end of the first one.

Scope & risk map

We walk the sites, list the assets and pin the one constraint that matters, then agree what a good result looks like before a single sensor is bought.

Pilot on one site

A focused set of sensors goes onto one site or asset group, live on our telemetry and dashboards, wired to the people who need the alert.

Validate & standardise

We tune thresholds, kill false positives, confirm the integration into your SCADA, BMS or CAFM, and write the standard design down so it repeats.

Scale the portfolio

The proven design rolls out across the estate, reusing the same hardware standards and data models so every site reads the same way.

Why Indiott

A specialist stack, not a box-shifter

Brand-agnostic by design

We pick the best of each brand for the layer and the environment, not one vendor catalogue. Milesight, AquaIoT, Atop, Browan, SpecSens and Urban.io, chosen on merit.

The whole stack, one supplier

Sensing, connectivity, OT security, control and the dashboard come from one accountable team, so there is no finger-pointing when something needs to talk to something else.

Specified and supported in Britain

UK-based engineers scope the site, quote the kit and stand behind it, with compliance mapped to the regimes your auditors actually cite.

Honest kit, honest pricing

Prices are shown where we can, quoted fast where we cannot, and you get a straight answer and a bill of materials within one working day.

What it costs, roughly

The Smart Cooling Box is a bespoke product, so it is specified and quoted to the application: the rapid-chill duty, the sensing and the stock and app requirement set the build. Tell us the use and the volume and a costed specification comes back within one working day.

Frequently asked questions

How fast is the rapid chill in practice?

Seconds to serving temperature for a single bottle, against several minutes for a conventional cooler. The exact figure depends on the starting temperature of the drink and the chill duty specified for the build, so it is set per application rather than quoted as one universal number. We size that duty to the container, the throughput and the ambient conditions on site.

Does the cooler log temperature for HACCP records?

Yes. Temperature is sensed continuously inside the box and logged automatically, so the unit produces its own time-stamped record instead of depending on a manual check sheet. An excursion outside the target band raises an alert immediately. That turns the cooler into a monitored critical control point with due-diligence evidence you can export for audit.

What does the app show, and what triggers an alert?

The app and dashboard show current internal temperature, door state and stock level for each unit, plus the temperature history behind them. Alerts fire on a temperature excursion, on a door left open and on low stock, so an operator sees a fault or a refill requirement without opening the lid or walking the floor.

Can we run a fleet of coolers across several sites?

Yes. Each unit reports over the network into one dashboard, so coolers across multiple venues are managed together rather than checked individually. You get temperature evidence, door-open events and low-stock flags per unit, and can sort the fleet by the units that need attention. Refills are then driven by data rather than a fixed route.

Can we monitor coolers and fridges we already own instead?

Yes, that is a retrofit rather than a bespoke build. A LoRaWAN probe sensor such as the Milesight TS201 (£44.89 ex VAT) or the TS302 with an external probe (£64.34) logs cabinet temperature, and the EM300-MCS door contact (£52.37) catches doors left open. A UG65 LoRaWAN gateway (£279.82) backhauls a whole site over EU868.

What does a smart cooling box cost?

It is engineered to the application, so it is quoted rather than listed. The chill duty, the sensing you need, the stock reporting and the app and alerting set the build cost, and volume moves the unit price.
