Where a usable 4-20 mA transmitter already exists, a monitored tank is one loop sensor plus a share of the gateway, which is the cheapest point on this page by some distance. Tanks needing a new transmitter carry that instrument cost on top and we quote it separately so you can see which is which. Itemised within one working day.
The loop sensor is designed to sit in the existing 4-20 mA circuit and pass it through, so the local indicator and any control action continue to work. It should still be commissioned by someone competent with the loop, and if that circuit does anything safety-related you should treat this as a modification and assess it accordingly.
Then this is not a retrofit job and we will be straight about that. You need a level instrument first, radar for most process liquids, hydrostatic for simple water and effluent duties. We quote the instrument and the monitoring together so the real cost is visible up front rather than appearing later.
Not as standard. The Urban.io sensors are IP67 industrial devices, not certified for use in a classified zone. Where you have a zoned area we scope certified instrumentation for the hazardous side and keep these sensors outside the boundary. We would rather tell you that now than have it surface at commissioning.
