Indiott, The Industrial IoT Specialists, is committed to protecting the personal data we handle in the course of supplying industrial IoT hardware and engineered solutions to business customers. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, the lawful bases we rely on, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law. It applies to this website and to enquiries made through it.

Who We Deal With

Indiott is a business-to-business supplier. The personal data we process generally relates to individuals acting in a professional capacity, such as engineers, procurement staff, and technical contacts at the organisations we quote and supply to. We do not knowingly market to or sell to consumers, and our website is not directed at children.

What Data We Collect

We collect personal data in the following circumstances:

• Quote and enquiry submissions. When you complete the quote form at /quote/ or otherwise contact us, we collect your name, work email address, company name, telephone number, and the details of your enquiry, including any product references, quantities, and technical requirements you provide.
• Website analytics. Where you consent, we collect information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring source. This is handled through optional analytics cookies described below.
• B2B company identification. For visitors arriving from business networks, we may use IP-based lookups to identify the organisation associated with a visit so that we can understand which types of business are interested in our products. This is carried out under legitimate interest and is described on our cookie notice. It identifies organisations, not named individuals.
• Correspondence. If you email or call us, we keep a record of that correspondence and any information it contains so that we can deal with your enquiry and maintain our business records.

Why We Use Your Data and Our Lawful Bases

We only process personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so under UK GDPR:

• Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). We rely on legitimate interests to respond to quote requests and enquiries from business contacts, to prepare and follow up quotations, to manage our customer relationships, to keep accurate business records, and to carry out B2B company identification. We consider these activities to be a proportionate part of running a trade supply business, and we balance them against your interests and rights.
• Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Where you place an order with us, we process the data needed to fulfil that order and to provide related support.
• Consent (Article 6(1)(a)). We rely on your consent for optional analytics cookies. You can give or withdraw this consent at any time through the cookie notice.
• Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). We process certain data, such as transaction records, where we are required to do so by law, including for tax and accounting purposes.

Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for unrelated third-party marketing. We share data only with service providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent needed for them to provide their service. These include our website hosting provider, our email and SMTP provider, and where relevant our manufacturers, distributors, and couriers, so that orders can be sourced and delivered and warranty or returns matters can be handled. We may also share data with professional advisers and, where legally required, regulatory or tax authorities. These providers act on our instructions under appropriate contracts. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection as required by UK data protection law.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. Quote and enquiry data is generally retained while there is a live or prospective business relationship and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can deal with follow-up requests. Records relating to orders and transactions are kept for the longer periods required by tax and accounting law. Analytics data is retained for the period set in our analytics tools. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Cookies

Our website uses a small number of cookies. Cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function are always active. Analytics cookies are optional and are only set where you give consent through the cookie notice shown when you visit. You can change your cookie choices at any time, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings. Declining optional cookies will not affect your ability to request a quote.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights in relation to your personal data, subject to certain conditions. These include the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure in certain circumstances, the right to restrict or object to processing (including processing based on legitimate interests and any direct marketing), the right to data portability where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means, and the right to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, we would prefer that you contact us first at contact@indiott.com so that we can try to resolve it.
