Kairos Water Leak Detection

A spot probe only alarms when water reaches its two contacts. The Noah membrane is a flexible printed strip laid along pipework, appliances and floor voids, so it senses water anywhere on that surface rather than at one position. It reports water, temperature and tamper over LoRaWAN and runs about ten years on its battery.

The Moses ultrasonic meter measures flow and drives a motorised shut-off valve, so an abnormal-flow pattern or a leak alarm closes the supply without anyone attending site. If you prefer stocked hardware, a Milesight UC511 solenoid valve controller is £119.71 ex VAT and the UC512 is £127.19, both LoRaWAN and rule-driven.

Kairos runs on LoRaWAN, which in the UK means the EU868 band. The K1 gateway backhauls over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or cellular and works with The Things Network and ChirpStack, so a site with an existing private network can adopt the sensors without a second stack. Milesight UG65 and UG67 gateways include an embedded network server and can also forward north over MQTT.

Multi-occupancy residential, hotels, student accommodation, offices and data halls, where an escape of water can close floors for weeks. Typical sensor positions are plant rooms, riser cupboards, under-sink voids and above suspended ceilings, with the incoming main metered so the portal can compare one building against the rest of an estate.
