Description
The ATOP EHG7612 is a Layer 3 managed industrial Gigabit switch with 12 ports: up to 8 × 10/100/1000BASE-T(X) RJ45, with 100/1000BASE-X SFP slots on selected versions, and 4 × 1/10 Gbps SFP uplinks on every version. Up to 8 ports carry PoE/PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at).
It routes IPv4 with static routing, RIP v1/v2, OSPFv2, BGP and VRRP, supports multicast routing with DVMRP and PIM-DM/SM/SSM, and builds redundant networks with ITU-T G.8032 ERPS, STP, RSTP, MSTP and MRP. Hardware IEEE 1588v2 transparent clocking, security features based on IEC 62443 and NEMA TS2 certification suit traffic control, smart-city and plant backbones. It mounts on DIN rail and operates from -40 to +70°C.
Choose the EHG7612 over the Layer 2 EHG7512 when the network needs routing between VLANs or subnets at the switch.

Which version do I need?
This page covers the EHG7612 family, which ATOP lists in 5 orderable versions. Every version has 4 × 1/10 Gbps SFP uplinks; the remaining ports are split between Gigabit RJ45, PoE RJ45 and 100/1000 SFP: EHG7612-410GSFP (8 × RJ45), EHG7612-4PoE-410GSFP (4 PoE + 4 RJ45), EHG7612-8PoE-410GSFP (8 PoE), EHG7612-4SFP-410GSFP (4 RJ45 + 4 SFP) and EHG7612-4SFP-4PoE-410GSFP (4 PoE + 4 SFP). Pick the version by the number of powered devices and fibre links you need; routing, uplinks and temperature range are the same across the family.
Typical applications for the EHG7612
- Routing between VLANs and subnets at a street or trackside cabinet
- Traffic control networks (NEMA TS2 certified)
- Aggregating IP cameras onto a 10 Gb fibre backbone
- Powering up to 8 cameras or access points in outdoor cabinets down to -40°C
- Redundant ERPS or MRP rings with Layer 3 hand-off to the core
- Utility and plant edge networks needing IEEE 1588v2 transparent clock timing

EHG7612 — frequently asked questions
How many ports does the EHG7612 have?
Twelve. Every version has 4 × 1/10 Gbps SFP uplinks; the other 8 ports are Gigabit RJ45, PoE RJ45 or, on the -4SFP versions, 4 RJ45 plus 4 × 100/1000 SFP.
How many PoE ports can it have?
Up to 8 PoE/PoE+ ports on the EHG7612-8PoE-410GSFP, or 4 on the -4PoE versions. PoE output needs an input of 45 VDC or higher.
What routing protocols does it support?
IPv4 static routing, RIP v1/v2 and OSPFv2, with ATOP's Layer 3 range also listing BGP, VRRP, DVMRP, PIM-DM/SM/SSM and a DHCP server.
What temperature range is it rated for?
-40 to +70°C operating and -40 to +85°C storage, in an IP30 metal DIN-rail housing.
What is the difference between the EHG7612 and the EHG7616?
Both have 4 × 1/10 Gbps uplinks, up to 8 PoE ports and Layer 3 routing. The EHG7616 has 12 access ports instead of 8 and adds versions with 8 or 12 × 100/1000 SFP slots.
Which certifications does it hold?
ATOP lists NEMA TS2 for traffic control and UL/EN/IEC (CB) 60950-1 and/or 62368-1 safety. It is not listed for EN 50155.
