Description
The ATOP SW5502 is a compact industrial Wi-Fi serial and Modbus gateway that puts serial field devices onto a wireless network. Its small footprint makes it easy to fit inside crowded machines, panels and cabinets where a full-size gateway will not go, while still delivering the robust connectivity industrial and manufacturing sites demand. It bridges RS-232/485 serial equipment and Modbus traffic over Wi-Fi to controllers, SCADA or cloud systems, removing cable runs to moving or hard-to-reach assets. Built to withstand harsh operating conditions, it is a practical way to add wireless serial connectivity where space is the deciding factor. Which version do I need?
ATOP documents the SW5501 and SW5502 in one row (1 or 2 serial ports). The brochure lists SW5502 (2 × DB9), SW5502-TB (2 × terminal block) and SW5502-SiS (2 × terminal block with serial isolation). The SW5502C is the lower-specification sibling: 2.4 GHz only instead of 2.4/5 GHz, 10/100BASE-T(X) instead of Gigabit Ethernet and no isolation option, with the same -10°C to +60°C rating. Choose the SW5502 where 2.4 GHz is congested, a Gigabit wired port is wanted, or the serial lines need isolation.

What is the difference between the SW5502 and the SW5502C?
The SW5502 has dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, a 10/100/1000BASE-T(X) Gigabit RJ45 port and an optional 3 kV serial isolation version. The SW5502C is 2.4 GHz only, has a 10/100BASE-T(X) port and no isolation option. Both have two serial ports, take 9-48 VDC and are rated -10°C to +60°C.
What is the difference between the SW5502 and the SW5501?
Only the serial port count: two RS-232/422/485 ports on the SW5502, one on the SW5501. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, power, housing and temperature ratings are the same.
