Which version do I need?

ATOP documents the SW5501 and SW5502 in one row (1 or 2 serial ports). The brochure lists SW5501 (DB9), SW5501-TB (terminal block) and SW5501-SiS (terminal block with serial isolation), and the same three for the 2-port SW5502. The SW5501C is the lower-specification sibling: 2.4 GHz only instead of 2.4/5 GHz, 10/100BASE-T(X) instead of Gigabit Ethernet, and no isolation option, with the same -10°C to +60°C rating. Choose the SW5501 where 2.4 GHz is congested, a Gigabit wired port is wanted, or the serial line needs isolation.

What is the difference between the SW5501 and the SW5501C?

The SW5501 has dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, a 10/100/1000BASE-T(X) Gigabit RJ45 port and an optional 3 kV serial isolation version. The SW5501C is 2.4 GHz only, has a 10/100BASE-T(X) port and no isolation option. Both are rated -10°C to +60°C and take 9-48 VDC.

Why choose 5 GHz?

ATOP added 5 GHz to reduce interference with other wireless devices on 2.4 GHz, and the dual-antenna design improves coverage and reduces blind spots.

Is the SW5501 a Modbus gateway?

No. ATOP lists it as a serial device server (VirtualCOM, TCP client/server, UDP, Reverse Telnet) and does not tick the Modbus TCP/RTU/ASCII gateway function. For Modbus TCP to RTU conversion over Wi-Fi, ATOP's model is the MW5501C, which is 2.4 GHz only.

Which connector versions exist?
