Which version do I need?

ATOP's brochure lists a single 'SE5916 SDK' entry (16 serial ports, 2 × 10/100 RJ45, no IEC 61850-3). The selection guide gives optional 2.5 kV serial isolation and lists both a 24-48 VDC and a 100-240 VAC power input; the standard SE5916 is sold in -DC and -EU / -US versions, so state the power type and isolation when ordering. The SE5908-SDK is the 8-port version of the same platform, and the SE5916A-SDK is the substation-grade 16-port version.

Typical applications for the SE5916-SDK

  • Rack-mounted data collection from up to 16 serial devices
  • Consolidating many legacy serial instruments into one Linux edge application
  • Custom monitoring or console applications in a control room rack
  • IIoT gateway applications pushing serial data to cloud or IT systems
  • Local logging of serial data to SD card
  • Customised web dashboards served from the device's lighttpd server
