Description

The EH7506 Series is a highly reliable and fault-tolerant Industrial Managed PoE Ethernet Switch. It equips four 10/100 BASE-T(X) RJ-45 ports and two 100/1000 BASE-F(X) SFP ports. With its high performance switching capacity, EH7506 Series provides network redundant self-recovery mechanism is less than 20ms on full load which allows you to scheme a reliable Ethernet network by building a redundant ring topology as your back-up solution. With a Multifunctional web dashboard, EH7506 Series offers intelligent features such as Quality of service (QoS), Virtual LAN (VLAN), IGMP, Port mirroring and security. To prevent network intrusions, it is necessary to have a good accessing control mechanism that can identify, authenticate and authorize users. EH7506 support user account, password policy, and authentication interface managements functions that comply with IEC62443 standard.

The EH7506 Series is designed for Industrial rugged applications. It equips a 5-pins terminal block to provide dual redundant power inputs with Reverse Polarity Protection and two sets of relay which allows field engineers to build up a stand-alone fault alarm system. Its IP30 housing protection, wide operating temperature of -20 to 70°C and DIN-Rail mounting capacities are liable to do most industrial filed applications.

Being Profinet CC-B v2.33 certified, this switch Series is Automation and IoT ready. Profinet allows wired and wireless combinations for an array of connectivity options, providing a more effective backbone for your automation operations.

Which version do I need?

This page covers the EH7506 series. ATOP lists two orderable codes: EH7506-2SFP (4 × 10/100 RJ45 without PoE plus 2 × Gigabit SFP slots) and EH7506-4PoE-2SFP (the same layout with PoE on all 4 RJ45 ports). Both share the 9-57 VDC redundant input, -20 to +70°C rating and IP30 DIN-rail housing. Choose the -4PoE version only if the switch must power cameras or access points, and size the supply at 45 VDC or higher for it.

Typical applications for the EH7506

  • Profinet automation cells that need a CC-B certified managed switch
  • PLC and HMI panels with a fibre uplink back to the plant backbone
  • Powering up to 4 IP cameras or wireless access points from a control cabinet (PoE version)
  • Redundant ERPS or MRP rings in machine and process networks
  • Switch status monitoring from a SCADA system over Modbus TCP or SNMP
  • Separating OT traffic with VLANs and ACLs at cell level

EH7506 — frequently asked questions

How many ports does the EH7506 have?

Six: 4 × 10/100BASE-T(X) RJ45 ports and 2 SFP slots for 100 or 1000 Mbps fibre modules. On the EH7506-4PoE-2SFP version all four RJ45 ports supply PoE.

What power supply does the EH7506 need?

9-57 VDC on dual redundant inputs via a 5-pin terminal block with reverse polarity protection. The PoE version needs an input of 45 VDC or higher to power devices.

Which ring and redundancy protocols does it support?

STP, RSTP, MSTP, ITU-T G.8032 ERPS and MRP (Master/Client), with network self-recovery in under 20 ms on full load.

Is the EH7506 Profinet certified?

Yes. ATOP lists the EH75xx family as Profinet CC-B v2.33 certified, and Modbus TCP is also supported for device status monitoring.

What temperature range is it rated for?

-20 to +70°C operating and -40 to +85°C storage, in an IP30 metal housing for DIN-rail mounting.

What is the difference between the EH7506 and the EH7508?

The EH7506 has 2 dedicated SFP slots next to 4 Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports. The EH7508 keeps 4 Fast Ethernet ports but adds 4 Gigabit combo uplinks, each usable as a 10/100/1000 RJ45 port or a 100/1000 SFP slot.

Does the EH7506 support IEEE 1588 PTP?

ATOP's 2025 selection guide does not list hardware IEEE 1588v2 for the EH75xx family. If you need hardware timestamping, the all-Gigabit EHG7504 and EHG7508 list an IEEE 1588v2 hardware E2E transparent clock.
