VS135 is a ceiling-mounted ToF people counter that counts bi-directionally with quoted accuracy up to 99.8% and no images collected. The decisive figure is detection range: the standard version covers 0.5 to 3.5 m and the high ceiling mount version 2 to 6.5 m, which sets how high you can mount it. PoE, cellular, Wi-Fi HaLow and LoRaWAN versions exist.
Detection range / maximum installation heightStandard 0.5 ~ 3.5 m (mount ≤3.5 m); High Ceiling Mount 2 ~ 6.5 m (mount ≤6.5 m)

Which version do I need?
Model names are documented as VS135-P (PoE), VS135-L08EU (cellular), VS135-HL-868M/915M (Wi-Fi HaLow) and VS135-470M/868M/915M (LoRaWAN); a UK buyer needs the 868M build for either radio version. Shopping cart fill level detection and HTTP(s)/MQTT(s)/CGI are only on the PoE, cellular and HaLow versions; BACnet/IP and the alarm I/O are PoE only. Standard and High Ceiling Mount variants differ in range, FoV and accuracy.
Typical applications for the VS135
- Retail store footfall counting
- Airport and transport hub flow
- Supermarket entrance counting
- Office and building occupancy
- Queue management via dwell time and regional counting
- Heat mapping of foot traffic
Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
Other regional bands are available to order on this and on every LoRaWAN sensor and gateway we supply. Tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the correct part number, price and lead time for the VS135.
Not sure which band applies where? The Things Network publishes the LoRaWAN frequency plan for every country.

VS135 — frequently asked questions
How high can the VS135 be mounted?
The standard version installs at up to 3.5 m with a 0.5 to 3.5 m detection range; the high ceiling mount version installs at up to 6.5 m with a 2 to 6.5 m range. At 3.5 m the standard version monitors 8.05 × 5.87 m; at 6.5 m the high ceiling version monitors 7.51 × 5.38 m.
Does it record video or identify people?
The datasheet states it is compliant with GDPR without images collected. A one-channel video validation function with a four-hour duration is provided for commissioning checks.
Does it work in the dark?
Yes. It uses a 940 nm invisible ToF light beam and the datasheet states it works in low-light or completely dark environments.
Does it need a LoRaWAN gateway?
Only the LoRaWAN version (VS135-xxxM), which is Class C OTAA/ABP. VS135-P runs over Ethernet with 802.3at PoE+, VS135-L08EU uses a nano SIM, and the Wi-Fi HaLow version runs in 802.11ah STA mode so it associates with a Wi-Fi HaLow gateway.
Can it be used outdoors or in a covered entrance?
No. Ingress protection is IP40 and the operating range is -20°C to 50°C, so it is an indoor ceiling-mounted device.
Can several units cover a wide entrance?
Yes, via multi-device stitching: up to 8 devices on the PoE version and up to 4 devices on the cellular, Wi-Fi HaLow and LoRaWAN versions.
