Description

The ATOP SW5502C is a compact Wi-Fi serial device server that connects two RS-232/422/485 devices to a network over 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11n Wi-Fi or a 10/100BASE-T(X) RJ45 port. A WPS button makes pairing with an access point quick.

It runs in VirtualCOM, TCP client, TCP server and UDP modes, so existing serial software can reach remote devices as if they were on a local COM port. It takes 9-48 VDC, mounts on DIN rail and operates from -10°C to +60°C. For Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP conversion over Wi-Fi choose the MW5502C; for dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi and a Gigabit port choose the SW5502.

Which version do I need?

ATOP documents the SW5501C and SW5502C in one SW5501/2C row (1 or 2 serial ports). The brochure lists two 2-port versions, SW5502C and SW5502C-TB, covering DB9 and terminal-block connectors, both with a WPS button; confirm the connector type when ordering. Compared with the SW5502, the SW5502C is 2.4 GHz only instead of 2.4/5 GHz, has 10/100BASE-T(X) instead of Gigabit Ethernet and has no isolation option, with the same -10°C to +60°C rating. The MW5502C has the same listed interfaces but runs as a Modbus gateway.
