Milesight VS133-P AI ToF People Counting Sensor
Authorised Milesight UK Distributor£492.30 ex VAT (£590.76 inc. VAT)
The Milesight VS133-P is a ceiling-mounted people counter that uses second-generation Time-of-Flight depth sensing rather than a camera, so it collects no images and works in complete darkness. One PoE+ Ethernet cable powers it and carries its data. Its detection range is 0.5 to 3.5 m, which caps installation height at 3.5 m, and counting accuracy is quoted up to 99.8% with up to four bi-directional counting lines.
Detection range (and maximum installation height)0.5 to 3.5 m; installation height ≤3.5 m

Description
VS133-P is a sensor that uses second-generation ToF technology to accurately count people and transmit data via PoE (Power over Ethernet). Benefiting from second-generation ToF technology, this product can provide more precise depth maps and longer detection distances while maintaining an excellent privacy protection.
The advanced ToF technology combined with an AI algorithm enables the sensor to handle complex scenes and distinguish non-human objects with up to 99.8% accuracy. VS133-P offers enhanced detection capabilities by allowing the stitching of multiple devices to cover a larger detecting area.
Additionally, it provides rich interfaces for versatile connection options, expanding the possibilities for integration and customization. With easy installation and automatic detection of installation height, the VS133-P is ideal for entrances or corridors in retail stores, malls, offices, subways, and other locations.

Which version do I need?
The VS133-P is the PoE build of the VS133 and carries no LoRaWAN radio, so it needs a PoE+ switch port at the mounting point rather than gateway coverage. It comes in black or white.
Typical applications for the VS133
- Retail store entrance footfall counting
- Shopping mall corridors
- Office entrance and occupancy analytics
- Subway and transport station passenger counting
- Queue management via dwell time detection
- Anonymous foot-traffic heat mapping

VS133 — frequently asked questions
What is the maximum mounting height?
3.5 m, matching the 0.5-3.5 m detection range. At 3.5 m the monitored area is 8.05 × 5.87 m and the detection area 4.14 × 3.02 m; at 2.5 m those figures are 5.75 × 4.20 m and 1.84 × 1.34 m. The sensor automatically detects the optimal installation height.
Does the VS133-P need a gateway?
No. It connects through a single 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port and takes its power from the same cable over 802.3at PoE+. It sends data over HTTP(S), MQTT(S) or BACnet/IP, and is configured through its web GUI over that Ethernet port.
Does it record video or images?
No. The datasheet states it is GDPR-compliant with no images collected. Depth sensing uses a 940 nm invisible light beam, which is also why it works in low light or complete darkness.
How is it powered?
By 802.3at PoE+ from the switch port. It is not battery-powered. Typical consumption is 9.4 W with a maximum of 23.8 W, so check the switch has PoE+ ports and enough total budget.
What happens to the data if the network drops?
It stores up to one million data records locally with CSV export, and supports data retransmission of 6 × 30000 packets once the network recovers.
Can several units cover a wide entrance?
Yes. Up to four VS133-P units can be stitched into one counting area, and the sensor detects each unit’s deflection angle automatically.
