Milesight EM300-ZLD Zone Leak Detection Sensor
Authorised Milesight UK Distributor£71.82 ex VAT (£86.18 inc. VAT)
EM300-ZLD is a LoRaWAN zone leak detection sensor. A 3 m sensing cable, customisable in length, detects conducting liquid anywhere along its run and alarms once the liquid reaches 5 mm depth, so it covers an area rather than a single point. It also reports temperature and humidity and runs several years on one 4000 mAh battery.

Specifications taken from the manufacturer datasheet.
Which version do I need?
The battery is offered as 4000 mAh as standard with an 8000 mAh version optional, and the sensing cable is 3 m as standard but customizable. The datasheet lists LoRaWAN bands CN470/IN865/RU864/EU868/US915/AU915/KR920/AS923-1&2&3&4 without spelling out the part-number suffix; the -868M build is the EU868 unit used in the UK.
Typical applications for the EM300-ZLD-868M
- Pipe leakage monitoring
- Basement flood detection
- Pump failure detection
- Large-area water presence detection in plant rooms
- Temperature and humidity monitoring alongside leak detection
Buying guides for this product
Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same EM300-ZLD-868M unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.
CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.
Not sure which band applies where? The Things Network publishes the LoRaWAN frequency plan for every country.

EM300-ZLD-868M — frequently asked questions
How long is the sensing cable?
3 m as standard, and the datasheet states the length is customizable. The cable detects along its whole run, which is what makes this a zone detector rather than a spot detector.
How much liquid triggers the alarm?
The alarm triggers when the liquid level reaches 5 mm. Detection works on the conductive principle, so it detects water and other conducting liquids.
Does it need a LoRaWAN gateway?
Yes for cloud reporting: it is a LoRaWAN Class A device (OTAA/ABP) for standard gateways and network servers. It also supports Milesight D2D, which gives ultra-low-latency direct control of another Milesight device without a gateway.
What battery does it use and how long does it last?
One replaceable 4000 mAh ER18505 Li-SOCl2 battery, with an 8000 mAh version optional. Milesight quotes over 10 years at SF7 (EU868 & US915) and around 5.6 years at SF10 on EU868, with a 10-minute interval and 24 triggers per day.
Will readings be lost if the gateway is down?
It stores 2,800 entries locally and supports data retransmission and data retrievability.
How does it mount and is it weatherproof?
The transceiver mounts by wall screw, 3M tape or cable tie, and the cable by 3M tape or cable tie. The enclosure is IP67 and UV-resistant, rated -30°C to +70°C.
How much does the Milesight EM300-ZLD Zone Leak Detection Sensor cost in the UK?
