Specifications taken from the manufacturer datasheet.

Which version do I need?

ATOP's brochure lists this as a single entry, 'SE5901 SDK': one serial port, two 10/100 RJ45 ports, no 4G and no IEC 61850-3. The selection guide gives the serial connector as DB9 or terminal block, so state which you need when ordering. It differs from the standard SE5901 (SE5901-DB / SE5901-TB) in being delivered as a development platform rather than with ATOP's serial server firmware. The SE5901B-SDK is the cellular SDK sibling with 4G and a Gigabit port.

Typical applications for the SE5901-SDK

  • Custom protocol conversion for a serial device not covered by standard firmware
  • Edge data filtering before sending serial data to a cloud platform
  • Proprietary security or communication apps on industrial hardware
  • IIoT gateways pushing serial device data to any cloud provider
  • Data logging to USB storage from a serial instrument
  • Customised web interfaces served from the device's lighttpd server
