Milesight VS330 Bathroom Occupancy Sensor
Authorised Milesight UK Distributor£67.34 ex VAT (£80.81 inc. VAT)
The Milesight VS330 is a battery-powered LoRaWAN occupancy sensor for toilet cubicles and small rooms. It combines a Time-of-Flight sensor with a PIR element to detect a stationary or moving person anonymously, in the dark if needed. The decisive figure is the ToF detection range of 0.040 to 3.500 m, with ± 2 cm accuracy over a 27° field of view.

Description
VS330 is a LoRaWAN® bathroom occupancy sensor providing a cost-effective
solution for monitoring the occupancy status of the bathrooms and the cubicles
of a public toilet in different scenarios. VS330 has combined dual technologies, Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology and Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor to identify the
human body and motions with a smart logic and an industry-leading accuracy
exceeding 99.5%. VS330 could easily adjust to different scenarios with 100%
anonymity and low power consumption. VS330 could be managed by integrated systems and it allows users to monitor
the occupancy and trigger linkage to control other devices via a web browser or
mobile App remotely. Damp-proof coating inside ensures it working well under
various conditions

Which version do I need?
The -868M suffix is the EU868 frequency build, which is what UK LoRaWAN networks use; the datasheet lists CN470/IN865/RU864/EU868/US915/AU915/KR920/AS923-1&2&3&4 as the available plans and quotes 16 dBm transmit power at 868 MHz. Battery life is also quoted separately per band, so use the EU868 figures (4.2 years at SF7, 3.4 years at SF10).
Typical applications for the VS330-868M
- Public toilet cubicle occupancy status
- Workplace and office restroom availability
- Washroom occupancy displays and dashboards
- Occupancy-triggered linkage control of other devices
- Small rooms where cameras are not acceptable
- Low-light or unlit spaces
Buying guides for this product
Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same VS330-868M unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.
CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.
Not sure which band applies where? The Things Network publishes the LoRaWAN frequency plan for every country.

VS330-868M — frequently asked questions
What is the maximum detection range?
The Time-of-Flight sensor covers 0.040 to 3.500 m with ± 2 cm accuracy and 1 mm resolution over a 27° field of view. The PIR element covers 80° to a maximum of 2.5 m. The sensor angle is adjustable in steps of 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 75°.
What batteries does it use and how long do they last?
Three 4000 mAh ER18505 Li-SOCl2 replaceable cells. On EU868 the datasheet quotes around 4.2 years at SF7 and around 3.4 years at SF10, tested with 90 users within 7 consecutive hours per day under laboratory conditions.
Does it work in the dark and with someone sitting still?
Yes. The datasheet states it is effective in low-light or completely dark environments and in static or motional applications with a low mistaken rate, because the ToF sensor detects presence rather than only movement.
Is it suitable for a humid bathroom?
It has a damp-proof coating inside the device and is rated 0-95% RH non-condensing at -20°C to 60°C. Ingress protection is IP30 only, so it is not splash-proof or washdown-rated and should not be mounted where it can be hosed or sprayed.
Does it need a gateway?
Yes. It uses standard LoRaWAN in OTAA/ABP Class A and is compatible with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers, or Milesight IoT Cloud. Configuration and power on/off are done from a mobile app over NFC.
How much does the Milesight VS330 Bathroom Occupancy Sensor cost in the UK?
