The Milesight EM500-PT100 is a battery-powered LoRaWAN temperature transmitter with a 3-wire PT100 probe on a 1.5 m cable, used on machines, ovens and pipes. Measuring range depends on the probe ordered: T050 -200 to 50°C, T200 -50 to 200°C, T500 -50 to 500°C, T800 -50 to 800°C. The IP67 transmitter runs about 10 years on one 19000 mAh cell.

Which version do I need?
Two suffixes matter here. First the probe: T050, T200, T500 and T800 set the measuring range, the accuracy class, the probe material (304 stainless for T050/T200/T500, 316 stainless for T800) and the cable type (Teflon to 290°C for T050/T200, fibreglass to 500°C or 800°C for T500/T800). Custom ranges from -200 to 800°C are available. Second the radio: -868M is the EU868 frequency build, which is what UK LoRaWAN networks use. A part number quoted as EM500-PT-868M does not state the probe range, so confirm the T-code before ordering.

Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same EM500-PT-868M unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.
CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.

What is the maximum temperature this sensor can measure?
It depends on the probe ordered. T800 reaches 800°C using a 316 stainless steel Ø5 × 50 mm probe with a fibreglass cable; T500 reaches 500°C; T200 reaches 200°C; and T050 goes down to -200°C. Custom ranges anywhere from -200 to 800°C are available.
How accurate is it?
T200, T500 and T800 are accuracy Class A and T050 is Class B. Typical figures are ± 0.6°C across -50 to 200°C for T200; ± 0.5°C to 170°C then ± 1.2°C to 500°C for T500; and ± 0.5°C to 170°C, ± 1°C to 420°C, ± 2°C to 800°C for T800. Resolution is 0.1°C.
Does the transmitter have to sit in the hot area?
No. The probe is on a 1.5 m cable (customisable length) and is contact-mounted, while the transmitter body mounts separately on a pole, wall or DIN rail. The transmitter is IP67 and rated -30°C to 70°C. Note the probe ingress ratings differ: T200's probe is IP67, while T050, T500 and T800 probes are listed as IP30.
How long does the battery last?
10 years at a 10-minute reporting interval at 25°C, from a single replaceable 19000 mAh ER34615 Li-SOCl2 cell. That figure is tested under laboratory conditions for guideline purposes.
Does it need a gateway?
Yes for reporting: standard LoRaWAN in OTAA/ABP Class A with line-of-sight range up to 10 km, working with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers. It also supports Milesight D2D as a controller for direct device-to-device control, and stores 1,000 entries locally with retransmission if the link drops.
