The Milesight CT101 is a self-powered LoRaWAN clamp-on current transformer that reports RMS current and accumulated consumption. Its decisive figure is the rated primary current: 100 Arms, through a Ф16 mm wire hole. Use it for circuit-level energy monitoring and machine fault detection in buildings; the clamp fits without de-energising the circuit and needs no battery.

Which version do I need?
The CT10x family differs by rated primary current: CT101 100 Arms, CT103 250 Arms, CT105 500 Arms. CT101 and CT103 share the 86.5 × 31 × 37.4 mm body with a Ф16 mm wire hole; the CT105 is a separate transceiver plus a larger clamp with a Ф36.5 mm hole. Frequency bands include EU868, which UK and EU LoRaWAN uses and which this -868M part is supplied on.

Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same Milesight CT101 / CT103 / CT105 Smart Current Transformer unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.

What is the maximum current the CT101 can measure?
Rated primary current is 100 Arms with a rated secondary of 100 mArms. Within the same family the CT103 is rated 250 Arms and the CT105 500 Arms.
What is the lowest current it will report?
When self-powered from the conductor it reports from 1.5 Arms at a 1-minute interval or 1.4 Arms at a 10-minute interval. To measure lower currents the device must be powered via USB.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is self-powered by induced current from the measured conductor, or can be powered with 5 V through the USB Type-C port. There are no batteries or external supply wires.
Does the circuit have to be switched off to install it?
No. It uses a non-invasive clamp design so it installs without de-energising the facility. Insulation voltage is 2.5 kVac r.m.s. and it carries CE, FCC and UL508 approvals.
Can it also measure cable temperature?
Yes. An NTC temperature sensor connects through the USB Type-C port, with a measuring range of -20°C to 100°C and accuracy of ±1%.
