AM304L is a LoRaWAN indoor ambience monitoring sensor measuring temperature, humidity, light and motion. Its decisive difference from the rest of the AM30x family is the sensor set: no CO2, TVOC, barometric pressure or PM2.5/PM10, and no E-Ink display. Temperature range is -20°C to 60°C with typical accuracy ±0.2°C, and PIR motion detection reaches 3 m.

Which version do I need?

868M denotes the EU868 LoRaWAN band, the correct band for the UK; the datasheet lists CN470/RU864/IN865/EU868/US915/AU915/KR920/AS923-1&2&3&4 and the band is fixed at order. Siblings in the same document: AM305L adds CO2; AM307 adds CO2, TVOC and barometric pressure plus the E-Ink screen; AM308(L) adds PM2.5 and PM10. AM304L and AM305L are the only two that support Milesight D2D; AM307 and AM308(L) are the only two that integrate with Milesight IoT Cloud.

Frequency band

Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.

The same AM304L-868M unit also covers RU864 and IN865. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.

CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.

Does the AM304L measure CO2?

No. The datasheet's ordering information lists AM304L as temperature, humidity, light and motion only. CO2 (NDIR, 400~5000 ppm) starts at AM305L; AM307 adds TVOC and barometric pressure; AM308 adds PM2.5 and PM10.

Does the AM304L have a screen?

No. The display row states the 4.2-inch black & white E-Ink screen is fitted to AM307 and AM308, while AM304L, AM305L and AM308L are listed as Not Support.

How long do the batteries last on EU868?

Around 14 years at SF7 and around 7.5 years at SF10, using 4 × 2700 mAh ER14505 Li-SOCl2 replaceable batteries at a 10-minute reporting interval and 25°C. It can also be powered by 5V/1A over the Type-C port.

Can the AM304L control other devices without a gateway?

Yes. Milesight D2D is supported on AM304L and AM305L only, and the advanced feature list includes D2D Data Transmission and D2D Controller for ultra-low-latency direct control.

How is it configured, and does it survive network loss?

Configuration is by mobile app over NFC or by downlink. It stores 4320 entries locally and supports data retrievability and data retransmission to prevent data loss.
