TS201 is a LoRaWAN temperature sensor with a detachable probe on a 1.5 m cable and a 5-pin M12 A-coded connector. The decisive spec is the probe measuring range: -40°C to 125°C at 0.1°C resolution, well beyond the -30°C to 55°C the transmitter body itself is rated for. It is IP67, EN12830 certified for cold chain, and runs on one replaceable AA lithium cell.

Specifications taken from the manufacturer datasheet.
Which version do I need?
-868M is the EU868 band used in the UK. The datasheet also documents two probe versions on the same body: a Temperature version with a DS18B20 probe, and a TH version with a CMOSens temperature and humidity probe that additionally reports 0-100% RH. Both probes are food-grade stainless steel (316 and 304 across the datasheet's two columns). Confirm which probe version is supplied, as the part number suffix does not state it.
Typical applications for the TS201
- Cold chain storage of food
- Cold chain storage of medicine and pharmaceuticals
- Refrigeration and freezer temperature monitoring
- Temperature monitoring in harsh or washdown environments
- Remote temperature and humidity logging over LoRaWAN
Buying guides for this product
Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same TS201 unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.
CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.
Not sure which band applies where? The Things Network publishes the LoRaWAN frequency plan for every country.

TS201 — frequently asked questions
What temperature range does the probe measure?
-40°C to 125°C at 0.1°C resolution. Note that the TS201 transmitter body itself is rated for -30°C to 55°C, so only the probe should be exposed to the extremes of that range.
Is the probe detachable?
Yes. The probe is detachable for self-calibration and connects through a 5-pin M12 A-coded male connector. The sensor cable is 1.5 m and the probe is 50 mm long.
Is it suitable for cold chain use?
It is EN12830 certified for cold-chain applications, IP67 rated with a specialised battery compartment design, and uses a food-grade stainless steel probe. It stores 4000 records locally with retransmission to prevent data loss.
What battery does it use and how long does it last?
One 2700 mAh ER14505 Li-SOCl2 battery. The datasheet quotes around 8.2 to 9 years at SF7 on EU868 depending on probe version, falling to around 2.7 to 2.8 years at SF10, tested at a 10-minute interval and 25°C.
Does it need a gateway?
It works with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers in OTAA/ABP Class A and with the Milesight Development Platform. It also supports the Milesight D2D protocol for direct low-latency control without a gateway.
How much does the Milesight TS201 Temperature Sensor cost in the UK?
The Milesight TS201 Temperature Sensor starts at £44.89 ex VAT from Indiott, with the exact figure depending on the variant you choose. Indiott is a UK distributor and invoices with VAT (PSI Technologies Ltd, VAT GB 730 2340 83). UK delivery is a flat £14.25 per order ex VAT, whatever the weight.
What is the lead time and delivery cost for the Milesight TS201 Temperature Sensor?
The Milesight TS201 Temperature Sensor is in stock and typically dispatched within 14 working days from the UK. UK delivery is a flat £14.25 per order ex VAT, whatever the weight or how many items you order. We ship to GB and the EU and provide a VAT invoice with every order.
