EM300-MCS is a LoRaWAN magnet switch sensor that reports the open/close status of doors, windows and cabinets, with a door magnet detection distance of 20-30 mm on a 1.5 m cable. It also measures temperature from -30°C to +70°C and humidity from 0 to 100% RH. IP67 rated, powered by a replaceable 4000 mAh battery lasting over 10 years at SF7 EU868.

Which version do I need?
The -868M suffix is the EU868 band version, the one a UK buyer needs; quoted Tx power at 868 MHz is 16 dBm and battery life is over 10 years at SF7 EU868. An 8000 mAh battery version is documented as optional.

Frequency band
Supplied on EU868, the LoRaWAN band used in the UK and across Europe. That is the default and you do not need to ask for it — the -868M in the part number is the EU868 build.
The same EM300-MCS-868M unit also covers IN865 and RU864. Those bands share the 863–870 MHz radio with EU868, so one device can be set to any of them in its own configuration — no different part number needed.
CN470, US915, AU915, KR920 and AS923 are a different radio and therefore a different build. Milesight makes them and we can order them: tell us where the devices are being deployed and we will confirm the part number, price and lead time.

How close does the magnet have to be to the transceiver?
The door magnet detection distance is 20-30 mm. The magnet connects to the transceiver by a 1.5 m cable, so the transceiver can sit away from the door leaf.
How long does the battery last, and is it replaceable?
It uses one replaceable 4000 mAh ER18505 Li-SOCl2 battery (an 8000 mAh version is optional). Over 10 years at SF7 EU868, around 4.5 years at SF10 EU868, based on a 10-minute interval plus 48 triggers per day under laboratory conditions.
Can it be used outdoors or in unheated areas?
Yes — IP67 UV-resistant waterproof enclosure, operating temperature -30°C to +70°C and 0-100% non-condensing humidity.
Does it monitor anything besides open/close?
Yes. Embedded temperature (-30°C to +70°C, ±0.3°C from 0-70°C) and humidity (0-100% RH, ±3% from 10-90% RH) sensors, with threshold alarms.
Does it need a gateway?
It is compliant with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers. It also supports Milesight D2D for ultra-low-latency direct control without a gateway, and stores 2,800 entries locally with retransmission if the link drops.
How is it configured?
By NFC using the mobile app, or by LoRaWAN downlink. Power on/off is via NFC or the internal power button.
